Nashville Learning Center's SAT Test Tip 3 for Success

Another mistake that students make is not utilizing their test booklet. In our SAT program we encourage students to get it in their heads that the textbook is theirs and they should use it accordingly.

Students should write any and everything that they need to in their test booklets. This includes formulas, equations, use it to solve mathematical problems, to outline and to paraphrase.

They should also mark out wrong answer choices so they can narrow down the correct answer.

And finally use it in the Reading section to underline as they read because this may help when attempting to find the correct answers.

All students need to remember is that no one is going to read what has been written in the test booklet so why not use it to their advantage.

Example:
The following sentence contains either a single error or no error at all. If the sentence contains an error, select the one underlined part that must be changed to make the sentence correct. If the sentence contains no error, select choice E.
From its modest beginnings as a series of brief vignettes to its establishment as the longest-running prime-time animated series on television, The Simpsons transformed the way both theaudiences and television programmers view the animated sitcom. No error

    • A
    • B
    • C
    • D
    • E
So the correct answer is D!
