Tip 1: Develop Regular Communication with Teacher
Most parents go to the school's open house and during this time they meet their kids teachers and once that is over they never communicate with the teacher again unless there is a problem. We recommend attending the open house, exchanging methods of communication with the teacher at that time to include phone numbers and email addresses (remember teachers are teaching and rarely have time for phone calls during the day, email just works easier for them). Then set up a schedule at that time of when you will communicate with them and what method works best for you. Make it a habit of communicating often even when there aren't any issues. So maybe you contact the teacher once a week via email to check on your child or once a month. Whatever works best for you and does ot overwhelm the teacher is what will work best.
Remember these two things:
Communication is key
Do not wait until there is a problem to contact the teacher
