What Can I do to Help My Child Improve Their Grades Tip 2

Tip 2: Maintain Good Records

Most of the time when our kids come home with graded work we do one of two things, we either throw it away or toss it somewhere in which it is never to be discovered again. Instead of tossing assignments or throwing them in the junk drawer develop a place to store all assignments at least until the grades for that quarter have been recorded and placed on report cards.

Now you may ask why would I do this? Well, the majority of teachers see anywhere from 100-150 students a day. High school teachers could see twice as many students in a weeks time as all others. If each of those students have a test and 5 graded assignments per week that is 600-900  grades that the teacher must keep up with. Loads of assignments, lots of paperwork, and late night grading may result in loss of assignments, incorrect input of grades, anything could happen but if you have the graded assignments in a place that is organized it is easy for you to go back and say my child didn't get a 69 on his test on January 10th he received a 96.

This also teaches your child how to be organized and maintain records.
