Tip 6: Don't Take Over

We all want our kids to have great grades and as much as we feel it is our responsibility to do so we also have to know how to take a step back and allow our kids to take charge of their own education.

Don't allow your goals and dreams for your child to take over their lives. School is their job so allow them to be good employees and you take a step back so that they can do so. If you spend to much time focused on their grades you can hinder them and make them miserable.

Son't constantly harp on getting into the college of your choice give them a chance to achieve greatness on their own. If you do this you will give them what they need to be responsible for their own education. Besides once they see their friends achieving greatness they will want to do the same and their friends' approval means more to them than yours.
